A fresh vertical crack or a torn union means the tree is failing right now, not eventually.
The root plate is lifting
Soil heaving on one side of the trunk means the tree is already coming over. Clear the area and call.

We prioritise by danger: trees on occupied structures and blocked emergency access come first. During a widespread storm event, call times run longer because half of Erie County is calling at once, but we will give you a realistic window rather than a comfortable one.
Typically yes when the tree has damaged a covered structure, and often for clearing a tree blocking a driveway. A tree that simply fell in the yard is frequently not covered. We document the damage with photographs and provide itemised invoicing to support your claim, but your policy is the final word.
Keep people and pets well clear of the tree and anything under it, stay out of rooms beneath impact damage, and do not touch or approach any wires. If it is safe to do so from a distance, photograph the scene for your insurer.
Emergency call-outs are priced differently from scheduled work because of crew call-in, night lighting and the conditions involved. We tell you the rate on the phone before we dispatch.
Our job is getting the tree off safely and clearing the debris. We will let you know what the roof needs and can point you toward a roofer, but the structural repair itself is not tree work.
